Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and academically accomplished Maths & Logic Olympiads Tutor to prepare gifted, high-achieving, and competition-focused students for national and international mathematics, logic, and problem-solving competitions.
The successful candidate will deliver advanced, personalised coaching that extends beyond the standard school curriculum. Lessons should develop mathematical reasoning, creative problem-solving, proof techniques, pattern recognition, logical deduction, strategic thinking, speed, accuracy, resilience, and confidence under competition conditions.
The tutor may support primary, secondary, and pre-university learners preparing for age-appropriate Olympiads, mathematics challenges, logic competitions, entrance examinations, and gifted education programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Assess students’ mathematical ability, reasoning skills, competition experience, and preparation goals
Develop personalised Olympiad and competition-preparation plans
Deliver advanced one-to-one and small-group Mathematics and Logic coaching
Teach non-routine problem-solving strategies that extend beyond standard curriculum methods
Develop learners’ abilities in number theory, algebra, geometry, combinatorics, probability, sequences, inequalities, and logical reasoning
Introduce mathematical proof, justification, conjecture, and counterexample techniques at an age-appropriate level
Teach pattern recognition, spatial reasoning, deduction, elimination, and strategic trial-and-improvement methods
Prepare students for relevant national and international mathematics competitions within the tutor’s expertise
Use previous competition papers, challenge questions, timed exercises, and mock Olympiad rounds
Help learners interpret complex questions and identify efficient solution pathways
Develop mental mathematics, estimation, checking methods, and computational accuracy
Teach students how to present complete, logical, and clearly structured solutions
Support learners preparing for individual and team-based competitions
Analyse recurring errors and develop targeted improvement activities
Build perseverance, intellectual curiosity, confidence, and resilience when solving unfamiliar problems
Recommend suitable competitions based on the learner’s age, ability, curriculum, and interests
Monitor progress and provide detailed feedback to students and parents
Collaborate with Simone’s Tutoring Mathematics, gifted education, coding, and academic competition specialists
Promote ethical competition participation, academic integrity, and positive sportsmanship
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field
MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain
Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching advanced Mathematics, Logic, or competition-level problem-solving
Strong knowledge of mathematical Olympiad topics and non-routine problem-solving methods
Demonstrated ability to explain advanced concepts clearly to school-aged learners
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or doctorate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or recognised teaching qualification
Previous participation in or coaching experience for Mathematics Olympiads
Record of students achieving distinctions, medals, finalist positions, or competition advancement
Experience coaching gifted and talented learners
Experience with competitions such as the International Mathematical Olympiad pathway, Kangaroo Mathematics, UK Mathematics Trust challenges, SASMO, AMC, or equivalent programmes
Experience designing advanced Mathematics enrichment programmes
UAE Licensing Requirements
Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.

Experience delivering personalised one-to-one or small-group coaching
