About the Role

Requirements

Role Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Geography Tutor — O Level / IGCSE to support students in developing a strong understanding of physical, human, and environmental geography. You will deliver personalised lessons aligned with Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, OxfordAQA, and other recognised O Level and IGCSE examination specifications.


The successful candidate will help students strengthen subject knowledge, geographical skills, data interpretation, case-study application, fieldwork understanding, structured writing, and examination technique.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assess students’ geographical knowledge, learning gaps, and examination goals

  • Deliver personalised O Level and IGCSE Geography tuition

  • Teach physical geography topics, including rivers, coasts, weather, climate, ecosystems, natural hazards, and tectonic processes

  • Teach human geography topics, including population, migration, settlement, urbanisation, tourism, development, agriculture, industry, and resource management

  • Develop students’ map-reading, graph interpretation, data analysis, and geographical enquiry skills

  • Teach students how to use relevant case studies and examples effectively in examination responses

  • Support fieldwork knowledge, data collection, investigation methods, and evaluation skills

  • Prepare learners for structured, data-response, map-based, and extended-writing questions

  • Use past papers, mark schemes, examiner reports, and syllabus objectives to guide tuition

  • Develop revision plans and conduct mock assessments

  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents

  • Stay informed about examination board specifications and syllabus updates


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Education, or a related field

  • MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching or tutoring Geography

  • Strong knowledge of O Level or IGCSE Geography curricula

  • Experience preparing students for external examinations


Preferred Qualifications
  • PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, OxfordAQA, AQA, or equivalent Geography specifications

  • Experience as an examiner, moderator, curriculum coordinator, or subject leader

  • Experience supporting geographical fieldwork or coursework

  • Professional or academic experience in environmental management, urban planning, sustainability, or related fields


UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.


UAE Visa & Work Eligibility

Applicants must be legally authorised to work in the UAE through one of the following:

  • Own UAE Employment Visa

  • Golden Visa

  • Green Visa

  • Freelance Permit

  • Dependent Visa with legal work eligibility

  • Any other valid UAE work authorisation
