Islamic Studies Tutor — O Level / IGCSE

Role Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Islamic Studies Tutor — O Level / IGCSE to support students studying Islamic Studies through Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, or other recognised O Level and IGCSE qualifications.

The successful candidate will deliver personalised lessons that strengthen students' understanding of the Qur'an, Hadith, Islamic beliefs, worship, ethics, history, civilisation, jurisprudence, and contemporary issues while developing analytical thinking, structured writing, source interpretation, and examination skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess students' subject knowledge, learning needs, and examination goals

• Deliver personalised O Level and IGCSE Islamic Studies tuition

• Teach Islamic beliefs (Aqidah), worship (Ibadah), Qur'an, Hadith, Seerah, Islamic history, ethics, civilisation, and contemporary Islamic issues

• Develop students' understanding of Islamic principles through authentic sources and scholarly perspectives appropriate to the examination specification

• Teach source analysis, structured responses, essay writing, and critical evaluation

• Prepare learners for multiple-choice, structured, and essay-style examination questions

• Use past papers, mark schemes, examiner reports, and syllabus objectives to guide revision

• Encourage respectful discussion, ethical reflection, and critical thinking

• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents

• Stay informed about syllabus updates and examination requirements

  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Islamic Studies, Sharia, Theology, Education, Arabic, or a related field

• MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain

• Minimum 2 years' experience teaching Islamic Studies

• Strong knowledge of O Level or IGCSE Islamic Studies curricula

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Islamic Studies, Education, or a related discipline

• PGCE, B.Ed., or recognised teaching qualification

• Experience teaching Cambridge International or Pearson Edexcel Islamic Studies

• Experience as an examiner, moderator, or curriculum specialist

• Fluency in Arabic and English

  
  

UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.

UAE Visa & Work Eligibility

Applicants must be legally authorised to work in the UAE through one of the following:

• Own UAE Employment Visa

• Golden Visa

• Green Visa

• Freelance Permit

• Dependent Visa with legal work eligibility
