Art & Design Tutor — Dubai

Role Overview

Simone’s Tutoring is seeking an experienced Art & Design Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one in-person tuition for children and teenagers. The tutor should be able to explain and demonstrate creative techniques clearly in a in-person learning environment while adapting lessons to each learner’s goals, curriculum and level.

Teaching Scope

• Observational drawing, painting, mixed media, composition, colour theory and visual research.

• Sketchbook development, idea generation, experimentation, creative process and presentation of work.

• Design fundamentals, visual communication and portfolio or coursework development where relevant.

• Digital art and design tools only within the tutor’s verified areas of expertise.

• Schoolwork and examination preparation only for curricula, age groups and assessment pathways the tutor is demonstrably qualified to teach.

• British GCSE, IGCSE and A Level Art & Design, IB Visual Arts, American or AP Art & Design, and other pathways where the tutor has appropriate experience.

Minimum Requirements

• A relevant bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, Art & Design, Visual Arts, Art Education, Graphic Design, Illustration or a closely related discipline, or a recognised teaching qualification supported by a strong relevant portfolio.

• At least two years of relevant Art & Design teaching or tutoring experience.

• A portfolio demonstrating strong practical, creative and conceptual Art & Design skills.

• Ability to demonstrate practical techniques effectively through live in-person tuition, including appropriate camera positioning and screen sharing when needed.

• Strong communication, lesson planning and learner-feedback skills.

• Reliable high-speed internet, webcam, microphone and a professional in-person teaching environment.

Preferred Experience

• PGCE, B.Ed, QTS, teaching licence or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience with British, IB or American Art & Design curricula, coursework, portfolios and external assessment requirements.

• Experience supporting learners with different confidence levels, learning profiles and creative goals.

• Confidence using relevant digital creative tools such as Adobe applications, Procreate, Canva or similar platforms where appropriate to the learner’s programme.

Professional Expectations

• Maintain professional communication with learners, parents and Simone’s Tutoring.

• Prepare purposeful, age-appropriate in-person sessions and provide clear feedback on progress and next steps.

• Follow safeguarding, privacy and professional conduct expectations when teaching children and teenagers in-person.

• Teach only within verified qualifications, experience and subject competence.

Applicants must be able to travel reliably for face-to-face tutoring within Dubai.
