Coping Skills & Emotional Regulation Tutor

Role Overview

We are seeking a caring and knowledgeable Coping Skills & Emotional Regulation Tutor to help children and teenagers develop healthy strategies for managing emotions, stress, anxiety, frustration, and everyday challenges. Through engaging, age-appropriate coaching sessions, you will teach practical coping techniques that improve resilience, confidence, emotional awareness, and overall wellbeing.

Your work will empower students with lifelong skills that enhance both their academic performance and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess students' emotional wellbeing, coping strategies, and learning needs

• Design personalised emotional regulation and coping skills programmes

• Teach mindfulness, relaxation, and stress management techniques

• Help students recognise emotions and develop healthy responses

• Build resilience, confidence, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness

• Teach positive communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Support learners during academic transitions, exams, and challenging life events

• Provide parents with practical strategies to reinforce emotional wellbeing at home

• Track student progress and adapt coaching plans as needed

• Collaborate with schools, tutors, and other professionals where appropriate

  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, Social Work, Child Development, or a related field

• MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain

• Minimum 2 years' experience working with children or adolescents

• Strong understanding of emotional development and child wellbeing

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Emotional Intelligence, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, SEL, or Child Behaviour

• Experience supporting children with anxiety, ADHD, Autism, or emotional regulation difficulties

• Knowledge of evidence-based emotional regulation frameworks

• Training in trauma-informed practice is advantageous

  
  

UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.

UAE Visa & Work Eligibility

Applicants must be legally authorised to work in the UAE through one of the following:

• Own UAE Employment Visa

• Golden Visa

• Green Visa

• Freelance Permit

• Dependent Visa with legal work eligibility

Required Experience

• 2+ years working with children or adolescents in educational, behavioural, counselling, or wellbeing settings

• Experience delivering emotional wellbeing or resilience programmes

• One-to-one coaching or tutoring experience preferred
