Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced GCSE / IGCSE & A-Level Specialist Tutor to support secondary and sixth-form students across a range of academic subjects and international examination boards. You will provide personalised tuition focused on curriculum mastery, examination technique, coursework, revision planning, and confidence building. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of British curriculum qualifications and a proven record of helping students improve their grades and academic performance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assess students’ current attainment, learning gaps, and target grades

  • Deliver personalised GCSE, IGCSE, AS Level, and A Level tuition

  • Teach one or more specialist subjects in line with relevant examination specifications

  • Support students following Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, OxfordAQA, AQA, OCR, WJEC, or other recognised examination boards

  • Develop subject knowledge, critical thinking, analytical writing, problem-solving, and examination skills

  • Use past papers, mark schemes, examiner reports, and specification objectives to guide instruction

  • Prepare structured revision plans and targeted intervention programmes

  • Support coursework, practical work, internal assessments, and independent study where applicable

  • Conduct mock assessments and provide detailed feedback

  • Monitor progress and communicate regularly with students and parents

  • Stay informed about curriculum and examination specification updates


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject, Education, or a closely related field

  • MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching or tutoring GCSE, IGCSE, or A Level students

  • Strong knowledge of at least one recognised British examination board

  • Demonstrated subject expertise in the applicant’s specialist area


Preferred Qualifications
  • PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching within a British curriculum school

  • Experience as an examiner, moderator, curriculum leader, or head of department

  • Experience teaching Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, AQA, OxfordAQA, OCR, or WJEC specifications

  • Proven record of supporting students in achieving strong examination results


UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.


UAE Visa & Work Eligibility

Applicants must be legally authorised to work in the UAE through one of the following:

  • Own UAE Employment Visa

  • Golden Visa

  • Green Visa

  • Freelance Permit

  • Dependent Visa with legal work eligibility

  • Any other valid UAE work authorisation


Required Experience
  • 3+ years teaching GCSE, IGCSE, AS Level, or A Level students

  • Experience preparing learners for external examinations

  • Experience delivering personalised academic intervention and revision support
