Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-focused Modern Maths Tutor / Educator — Form 4–5 SPM / O-Level to support upper-secondary students preparing for Malaysian SPM Mathematics and recognised O-Level Mathematics qualifications.
The successful candidate will deliver personalised lessons that strengthen mathematical understanding, procedural fluency, problem-solving, examination technique, and confidence. The tutor should be familiar with the content, terminology, question styles, calculator expectations, and assessment requirements used in Malaysian upper-secondary Mathematics and equivalent O-Level pathways.
The role may also involve supporting students transitioning between the Malaysian national curriculum and Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, or other international examination systems.
Key Responsibilities
Assess students’ mathematical knowledge, learning gaps, target grades, and examination readiness
Deliver personalised Form 4 and Form 5 Mathematics tuition
Prepare learners for SPM Modern Mathematics and O-Level Mathematics examinations
Teach number, algebra, equations, inequalities, graphs, functions, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry, statistics, probability, matrices, transformations, and consumer mathematics
Reinforce foundational skills required for upper-secondary Mathematics
Explain mathematical concepts using clear, step-by-step methods
Teach calculator and non-calculator techniques
Develop learners’ mathematical reasoning, interpretation, accuracy, and problem-solving
Use official curriculum documents, textbooks, past papers, trial papers, mark schemes, and examination reports
Teach students how to interpret command words and identify the requirements of each question
Develop examination pacing, checking strategies, question selection, and time management
Identify recurring misconceptions and create targeted intervention activities
Conduct topic tests, timed practice papers, and mock examinations
Analyse student performance and provide detailed feedback
Support homework, school assessments, revision, and examination preparation
Help students transition between SPM and O-Level Mathematics terminology and methods
Develop personalised revision schedules and independent-practice routines
Monitor progress and communicate regularly with students and parents
Stay informed about relevant syllabus and assessment changes
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Education, or a closely related field
MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain
Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching or tutoring upper-secondary Mathematics
Strong knowledge of Malaysian Form 4–5 Mathematics, SPM Modern Mathematics, or O-Level Mathematics
Demonstrated experience preparing learners for external Mathematics examinations
Strong spoken and written English communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
PGCE, B.Ed., Diploma in Education, QTS, or recognised teaching qualification
Teaching experience in a Malaysian national, private, or international school
Experience teaching KSSM Mathematics and preparing learners for SPM
Experience teaching Cambridge O-Level, Cambridge IGCSE, or Pearson Edexcel Mathematics
Ability to teach in English and Bahasa Melayu
Experience supporting students with weak foundations, examination anxiety, or curriculum transitions
Proven record of improving student grades or examination outcomes
UAE Licensing Requirements
Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.

2+ years teaching or tutoring upper-secondary Mathematics
Experience preparing students for SPM, O-Level, IGCSE, or equivalent examinations
Experience using past papers, trial papers, and mark schemes
Experience conducting timed assessments and analysing errors
Experience delivering targeted intervention for individual learning gaps
Experience teaching learners in one-to-one or small-group settings
