Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Remedial / Support English Tutor to provide targeted literacy intervention for learners requiring additional support in English language development.
The successful candidate will work with children, teenagers, and adults who are performing below expected academic levels due to learning gaps, interrupted education, English as an Additional Language (EAL), learning differences, or other educational needs. The tutor will provide structured, personalised instruction to strengthen foundational literacy skills while building confidence, independence, and academic success.
This role complements school learning and does not replace specialist clinical services where these are required.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct diagnostic literacy assessments within an educational scope
Identify learning gaps and develop personalised intervention plans
Deliver one-to-one and small-group remedial English sessions
Teach phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, reading fluency, comprehension, and written expression
Support sentence construction, paragraph writing, and academic writing skills
Reinforce classroom learning using differentiated instruction
Adapt lessons for learners with dyslexia, ADHD, language delays, EAL, or other educational needs within the tutor's qualifications
Build confidence, motivation, and positive learning habits
Monitor learner progress through ongoing formative assessment
Provide regular feedback and home support strategies to parents
Collaborate with schools, SEN departments, and multidisciplinary professionals where appropriate
Refer families to appropriately qualified professionals when concerns extend beyond educational intervention
Maintain safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Literacy, Special Education, Primary Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain
Minimum 3 years' experience teaching English or literacy intervention
Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction
Excellent spoken and written English
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Literacy, Reading Education, Special Education, or a related discipline
PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or recognised teaching qualification
Training in structured literacy, Science of Reading, Orton-Gillingham, or recognised remedial reading programmes
Experience supporting EAL learners
Experience in international schools or specialist learning-support settings
Experience working with learners with mild to moderate learning differences
UAE Licensing Requirements
Tutors providing remedial English instruction must hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation before providing private educational services.
Applicants must not diagnose learning disorders or provide regulated healthcare services unless separately licensed and legally authorised under UAE law.

Applicants must be legally authorised to work in the UAE through one of the following:

Dependent Visa with legal work eligibility
Any other valid UAE work authorisation

Earn 60% commission on all checked-in, completed, and fully paid student lessons and packages.
Commission is calculated after the student's payment has been received by Simone's Tutoring.
Payments are processed monthly.
Tutors are engaged as independent contractors and manage their own tax and visa obligations.
Additional earnings may be available through workshops, holiday programmes, group classes, and corporate training opportunities.
