About the Role
As a BSL Tutor / Educator, you will provide lessons for students learning British Sign Language from beginner to advanced levels. Your role includes teaching BSL vocabulary, grammar, and syntax, supporting classroom integration, facilitating communication, and creating a positive learning environment.
This role is ideal for educators experienced with BSL instruction in academic or school-based settings.
Requirements
Education & Academic Background
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Deaf Studies, Linguistics, or a related field preferred
Certification or proven proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL)
Prior experience tutoring or teaching students using BSL
Curriculum & Pedagogical Knowledge
Ability to teach students in UK-influenced curricula and international schools
Familiarity with Primary → Secondary levels
Understanding of inclusive education strategies for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners
Knowledge of curriculum-aligned academic support in BSL
Teaching & Resource Skills
Ability to plan and deliver structured, curriculum-aligned BSL lessons
Comfortable creating and using teaching resources, including visual aids, worksheets, and interactive activities
Skilled in tracking student progress and adapting lessons to individual needs
Communication & Professionalism
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Professional, reliable, and punctual
Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents, and school staff regarding goals, progress, and expectations
Legal & Work Eligibility
Must hold a valid UAE visa that legally permits freelance or commission-based work
Valid MOHRE tutoring/teaching permit required
No visa sponsorship or employment benefits provided
Applicant responsible for maintaining their own legal work eligibility
Compensation
💰 Commission-based
Earn a percentage of fees per session or package delivered
Earnings are performance-based and uncapped
