About the Role
As an English Language Exam Preparation Tutor / Educator, you will provide tailored instruction and support for students preparing for English language proficiency exams. Responsibilities include assessing student ability, creating lesson plans, delivering practice sessions, providing constructive feedback, and tracking progress to ensure improvement in exam performance.
This role is ideal for educators with experience preparing learners for secondary school through adult-level exams, including IELTS, OET, TOEFL, Cambridge English exams, and SAT/ACT English sections.
Requirements
Education & Academic Background
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
Certification in TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or relevant exam preparation qualification preferred
Previous experience teaching or tutoring students for English proficiency exams
Exam & Pedagogical Knowledge
Strong understanding of exam format, scoring, and assessment criteria for:
IELTS (Academic & General)
OET (Healthcare professionals)
TOEFL / TOEIC
Cambridge English Exams (KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE)
SAT / ACT English sections
Ability to develop personalised learning plans for different proficiency levels
Awareness of common student challenges and strategies to overcome them
Ability to track student progress and adjust lessons to meet targets
Teaching & Resource Skills
Ability to plan and deliver structured, exam-focused lessons
Provide practice exercises, mock tests, and exam strategies
Comfortable creating and using teaching resources (worksheets, slides, online exercises)
Skilled in giving constructive feedback and motivating students
Communication & Professionalism
Strong verbal and written communication in English
Professional, reliable, and punctual
Able to communicate clearly with students regarding goals, progress, and expectations
Legal & Work Eligibility
Must hold a valid UAE visa that legally permits freelance or commission-based work
Valid MOHRE tutoring/teaching permit required
No visa sponsorship or employment benefits provided
Applicant responsible for maintaining their own legal work eligibility
Compensation
💰 Commission-based
Earn a percentage of fees per session or package delivered
Earnings are performance-based and uncapped
