Role Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging History Tutor — O Level / IGCSE to support students in developing strong historical knowledge, source-analysis skills, essay writing, critical thinking, and examination technique.
The successful candidate will deliver personalised lessons aligned with Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, OxfordAQA, and other recognised O Level and IGCSE History specifications. You will help students understand historical causation, consequence, change, continuity, significance, interpretation, and evidence while preparing them confidently for external examinations.
Key Responsibilities
Assess students’ historical knowledge, learning gaps, writing skills, and target grades
Deliver personalised O Level and IGCSE History tuition
Teach relevant modern, world, regional, and depth-study topics according to the student’s examination specification
Develop understanding of chronology, causation, consequence, change, continuity, significance, and historical interpretation
Teach students how to analyse primary and secondary sources
Develop structured paragraphing, evidence-based argument, essay planning, and extended writing
Support learners with source-based, structured, and essay-style examination questions
Teach effective use of historical evidence, examples, dates, individuals, and events
Use past papers, mark schemes, examiner reports, and syllabus objectives to guide tuition
Prepare revision plans, timelines, topic summaries, flashcards, and retrieval-practice activities
Conduct mock assessments and provide detailed feedback
Support coursework or internally assessed components where applicable
Monitor progress and communicate regularly with students and parents
Stay informed about examination board specifications and syllabus updates
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, Politics, International Relations, Humanities, or a related field
MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain
Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching or tutoring History
Strong knowledge of O Level or IGCSE History requirements
Excellent written communication and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, OxfordAQA, AQA, or equivalent History specifications
Experience as an examiner, moderator, curriculum coordinator, or subject leader
Master’s degree in History, Education, Politics, or a related discipline
Proven experience improving students’ essay writing and external examination results
UAE Licensing Requirements
Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.

Earn 60% commission on all checked-in, completed, and fully paid student lessons and packages.
Commission is calculated after the student's payment has been received by Simone's Tutoring.
Payments are processed monthly.
