About the Role
As an Accountant, you will manage and support the financial operations of Simone’s Tutoring. Your responsibilities will focus on bookkeeping, revenue tracking, commission calculations, invoicing, and financial reporting tailored to a tutoring and educational services environment.
This role is ideal for an accountant experienced with service-based businesses, freelancers, or education providers, and comfortable working remotely with clear deliverables.
Requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly and professionally
Reliable, well-organised, and detail-oriented
Proactive in identifying discrepancies, compliance issues, or process improvements
Able to work independently while meeting deadlines consistently
Previous experience supporting small businesses, education providers, or service-based organisations
Experience handling commission-based or freelancer payment structures
Must hold a valid UAE visa that legally permits employment or freelance work
Applicants on a dependent/family visa must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC)
Tourist or visit visa holders are not permitted to work
Applicants are responsible for maintaining their own legal work status and documentation
Education & Professional Background
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CMA) is an advantage
Proven experience as an accountant or bookkeeper, preferably with:
Education providers
Tutoring centres
Service-based or commission-based businesses
Education Sector–Specific Knowledge
Understanding of education service revenue models, including:
Session-based billing
Package-based payments
Commission payouts to tutors or collaborators
Familiarity with managing multiple payment streams (parents, students, platforms)
Accounting & Financial Skills
Experience handling:
Bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance
Invoicing and payment tracking
Expense categorisation and reconciliation
Commission calculations and payouts
Ability to prepare:
Monthly financial summaries
Income and expense reports
Cash flow tracking
Compliance & Local Awareness
Understanding of UAE VAT requirements
Ability to flag compliance considerations relevant to:
Freelancers
Independent contractors
Commission-based payments
Experience preparing documentation for audits or financial reviews is a plus
Technical & Practical Skills
Proficiency with accounting tools such as:
Excel / Google Sheets (intermediate level or above)
Wix website platform
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to organise financial records securely and clearly
Communication & Professionalism
Clear written communication in English
Ability to explain financial information in simple, non-technical terms
Reliable, deadline-driven, and discreet when handling sensitive information
