Role Overview
We are seeking an Interior Architecture Tutor who can provide clear, personalised academic and portfolio support in interior architecture, spatial design and related design disciplines. The role is educational and does not involve providing regulated architectural, engineering or construction services.
Teaching Scope
Interior architecture and spatial-design principles, including space planning, circulation, scale, proportion, ergonomics and user-centred design.
Concept development, research, precedent studies, mood boards, material and finish selection, furniture planning, sustainability and design communication.
Technical drawing, plans, sections, elevations, perspective, model-making and digital presentation where these fall within the tutor’s verified expertise.
Portfolio development, project critiques, design-process documentation, presentation boards, written design rationale and academic coursework support.
Software support such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and Adobe Creative Cloud only where the tutor can demonstrate genuine competence in the relevant software.
School, foundation, university and higher-education support, including relevant Art & Design, Design Technology, IB or equivalent pathways where the tutor has verified curriculum or programme experience.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Architecture, Spatial Design or a closely related field.
Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain design concepts, technical ideas and visual communication clearly to learners.
Relevant teaching, tutoring, academic mentoring or professional design experience; at least 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Ability to review student work constructively and help learners develop independent design thinking rather than completing assessed work for them.
Professional English communication and reliable parent/student progress communication where appropriate.
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting portfolio preparation for school, university or higher-education applications.
Experience with British, IB, American or other international curricula and qualifications relevant to art, design, architecture or design technology.
Professional practice experience in interior architecture, interior design, architecture or spatial design.
Experience differentiating instruction for different ages, confidence levels and learning needs.
In-Person Delivery Requirements
Available for face-to-face tutoring at students’ homes or approved learning venues in the relevant emirate.
Reliable personal transportation for travel to assigned tutoring locations.
Valid UAE residence and lawful work status, plus a MOHRE Private Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain the required tutoring approval before accepting assignments.
Professional & Safeguarding Expectations
Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, punctuality and child-safeguarding standards.
Teach within verified qualifications and expertise and clearly state which age groups, software, curricula and qualification pathways you can support.
Provide guidance, critique and instruction without producing assessed coursework, portfolios or university submissions on behalf of the student.
Freelance tutoring arrangement. Compensation is based on completed and fully paid sessions under the agreed tutor commission or session-rate structure. This is not an employment or visa-sponsorship arrangement.
