New Book Launch: A Little Muslimah’s Ablution Guide

Assalamu Alaikum dear parents, friends and caregivers

I’m so excited to share the release of my latest children’s book: A Little Muslimah’s Ablution Guide — a gentle, step-by-step story that teaches young Muslim girls how to clean themselves properly after using the toilet, in a way that’s respectful, age-appropriate, and rooted in Islamic values.

The idea for this book came from a personal place. As a mother, I was looking for books online to help guide my own daughter through this important life skill—and I was surprised to find how few resources were available. Most books I came across were either too vague, not faith-friendly, or not suitable for a 4–7-year-old Muslim girl. That’s when I decided: if I couldn’t find one, I’d write it myself.

As the founder of Simone’s Tutoring, I’ve always been passionate about education beyond the classroom—supporting not only academics but personal development and practical life skills. And I truly believe that teaching children how to care for themselves is just as important as teaching them how to read and write.

💧 What is this book about?

A Little Muslimah’s Ablution Guide is designed specifically for little girls who are just starting to manage toilet hygiene on their own. Through gentle rhymes, cheerful watercolor illustrations, and clear steps, the book teaches:

• How to wipe properly (front to back)

• How to wash with water (istinja) in a modest and confident way

• How to dry off and feel clean and fresh

• Why cleanliness is part of our faith

No private parts are shown, and the language is carefully written to reflect modesty and ease for young readers.

🌸 Why I Wrote It

I wanted to create something that helps Muslim families approach this sensitive topic with ease—because it is part of our deen. Our beloved Prophet ﷺ taught us that “cleanliness is half of faith”, and this includes teaching our children how to purify themselves with love, patience, and understanding.

This book is here to make that easier—for parents, teachers, and of course, for our daughters.
