Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Thanawiya Al Amma & Tawjihi Specialist Tutor to prepare secondary students for recognised Arab national high-school examinations and related university-entry pathways.


The successful candidate will provide structured, curriculum-aligned instruction for students following the UAE General Secondary Education Certificate pathway, commonly known as Thanawiya Al Amma, and the Jordanian General Secondary Education Certificate pathway, commonly known as Tawjihi.


Applicants should clearly identify the country pathway, academic stream, curriculum version, subjects, examination levels, and language of instruction they are qualified to teach.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assess learners’ current academic performance, subject knowledge, and examination goals

  • Develop personalised examination-preparation plans

  • Deliver one-to-one and small-group tuition

  • Teach curriculum content aligned with the relevant national examination pathway

  • Support scientific, literary, general, advanced, vocational, or other recognised streams within the tutor’s verified expertise

  • Prepare students in subjects such as Arabic, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Islamic Studies, Social Studies, History, Geography, or other approved subjects

  • Explain examination structure, mark allocation, timing, and question requirements

  • Teach effective revision, note-taking, memorisation, recall, and examination strategies

  • Use official curriculum documents and authorised public learning resources

  • Guide students through past papers and publicly released examination-style questions

  • Analyse learner errors and identify priority topics

  • Provide targeted intervention in weak subject areas

  • Conduct timed mock assessments and revision sessions

  • Support Arabic-medium and English-medium learners where qualified

  • Help learners manage examination pressure through structured preparation and realistic study planning

  • Track syllabus coverage, homework completion, and learner progress

  • Provide regular progress updates to parents

  • Support students in understanding general academic progression options without guaranteeing university admission or equivalency

  • Maintain academic integrity, confidentiality, and professional boundaries


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or the subject area taught

  • MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching secondary-level students

  • Demonstrated experience teaching Thanawiya Al Amma, Tawjihi, or a closely related Arab national curriculum

  • Strong knowledge of the relevant syllabus and examination structure

  • Fluency in the language of instruction required for the subject

  • Excellent lesson-planning and examination-preparation skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Studies, or the relevant subject area

  • B.Ed., PGCE, teaching diploma, or recognised teacher qualification

  • Experience teaching in UAE or Jordanian schools

  • Experience marking, moderating, coordinating, or preparing students for national examinations

  • Demonstrated record of improving learner results

  • Experience supporting high-achieving students seeking competitive university pathways

  • Ability to teach in both Arabic and English

  • Knowledge of UAE university-admission and certificate-equivalency processes at a general guidance level


UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors providing private instruction in the UAE must hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation.


Applicants must only teach the national curriculum, academic stream, examination version, and subjects in which they have verified competence.


Tutors must not claim to represent the UAE Ministry of Education, Jordanian Ministry of Education, examination authorities, schools, universities, or equivalency departments unless formally authorised.


Tutors must not obtain, reproduce, distribute, or use leaked, confidential, or unauthorised examination materials.


UAE Visa & Work Eligibility

Applicants must be legally authorised to work in the UAE through one of the following:

  • Own UAE Employment Visa

  • Golden Visa

  • Green Visa

  • Freelance Permit

  • Dependent Visa with legal work eligibility

  • Any other valid UAE work authorisation


Required Experience
  • 3+ years teaching secondary-level students

  • Experience preparing students for Thanawiya Al Amma, Tawjihi, or related national examinations

  • Experience teaching at least one recognised examination subject

  • Experience planning intensive revision programmes

  • Experience using past papers and examination-style questions

  • Experience conducting mock assessments

  • Experience monitoring syllabus coverage and learner progress

  • Experience communicating with parents regarding examination readiness
