Humanities, Social Studies, History & Geography Tutor — Ajman

Role Overview

Simone's Tutoring is seeking a versatile Humanities, Social Studies, History & Geography Tutor for in-person tutoring in Ajman. The tutor should be able to support integrated Humanities and Social Studies as well as History and Geography within their verified curriculum, age-range and examination expertise.

Teaching Scope

• History: chronology, causation, consequence, change and continuity, source analysis, interpretation, evidence-based writing and exam technique.

• Geography: physical and human geography, map skills, graphs and data interpretation, fieldwork concepts, case studies and structured responses.

• Social Studies / Humanities: integrated study of people, places, societies, culture, citizenship, economics and historical-geographical contexts, according to the learner's curriculum.

• Curriculum and examination support may include British, IB, American, UAE Ministry of Education, CBSE and ICSE pathways, but only within the tutor's demonstrated competence.

• Support learners with essay planning, extended responses, command words, revision, retrieval practice and independent study skills.

Required

• A relevant bachelor's degree in History, Geography, Humanities, Social Sciences, Education or a closely related discipline.

• At least 2 years of relevant teaching or tutoring experience.

• Demonstrable ability to teach both History and Geography and to support integrated Humanities / Social Studies within the applicant's qualified age ranges and curricula.

• Strong written and spoken English, clear explanations, sound subject knowledge and the ability to adapt lessons to individual learners.

• UAE residence and legal work authorisation, with a MOHRE Private Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain the required tutoring permission as applicable.

• Reliable transport and ability to travel to learners in Ajman for face-to-face lessons.

Preferred

• PGCE, B.Ed, QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.

• Experience with GCSE / IGCSE, A Level, IB MYP / DP, AP or other recognised examination pathways where relevant.

• Experience teaching learners across more than one curriculum and supporting research, analytical writing and exam preparation.

• Strong parent communication, safeguarding awareness and concise progress reporting.
