Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Mindfulness & Coping Skills Tutor to help children and teenagers develop practical strategies for managing stress, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, and everyday challenges. You will work one-on-one with learners to teach mindfulness techniques, emotional awareness, healthy coping strategies, and resilience-building skills that promote emotional wellbeing, self-confidence, and personal growth.
Sessions focus on helping students become more present, emotionally aware, and equipped to navigate academic, social, and personal challenges with confidence and self-regulation.
Key Responsibilities
Assess each student's emotional wellbeing, coping strategies, and individual learning needs
Develop personalised mindfulness and coping skills programmes tailored to the learner's age and developmental stage
Teach mindfulness practices, including breathing exercises, grounding techniques, body awareness, and guided relaxation
Help students recognise emotions, identify stressors, and develop healthy responses to challenging situations
Build resilience, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and positive self-esteem
Teach practical coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, frustration, disappointment, and change
Encourage positive thinking, gratitude, self-compassion, and healthy emotional expression
Use age-appropriate activities, storytelling, movement, games, creative exercises, and reflective discussions to reinforce learning
Support students during exams, school transitions, friendship challenges, and other life changes
Guide parents with practical strategies to reinforce mindfulness and emotional wellbeing at home
Maintain professional session records and monitor student progress
Collaborate with tutors, educators, counsellors, and other professionals where appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, Social Work, Child Development, Occupational Therapy, or a related field
MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain
Minimum 2 years' experience working with children or adolescents in educational, counselling, coaching, or wellbeing settings
Strong understanding of child development, emotional regulation, and mental wellbeing
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), Child Behaviour Management, Life Coaching, or a related field
Experience supporting children with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety, or emotional regulation challenges
Knowledge of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), emotional regulation frameworks, and resilience-building strategies
Training in trauma-informed, strengths-based, or solution-focused approaches is advantageous
UAE Licensing Requirements
Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.

Required Experience
2+ years working with children or adolescents in education, coaching, counselling, youth development, or wellbeing settings
Experience delivering mindfulness, emotional wellbeing, resilience, or coping skills programmes
One-to-one coaching or tutoring experience preferred
