Role Overview
We are seeking a creative and compassionate Social-Emotional Learning Through Art Tutor to help children and teenagers develop emotional intelligence, self-awareness, confidence, and healthy coping skills through creative expression. You will work one-on-one with learners, using art-based activities to encourage emotional exploration, communication, problem-solving, and positive social interactions in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
Sessions focus on fostering emotional wellbeing, resilience, creativity, and self-expression while helping students build the social-emotional skills needed to succeed both academically and personally. This is an educational coaching role and does not involve providing art therapy or mental health treatment.
Key Responsibilities
Assess each student's social-emotional strengths, creative interests, and developmental needs
Develop personalised art-based social-emotional learning programmes tailored to the learner's age and goals
Use drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, crafts, mixed media, and other creative activities to encourage emotional expression and self-awareness
Teach emotional recognition, empathy, resilience, and healthy coping strategies through engaging creative projects
Help students develop confidence, communication, cooperation, and problem-solving skills
Encourage mindfulness, reflection, and positive self-expression through art-based activities
Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes creativity and emotional growth
Use age-appropriate discussions and reflective activities to help students process emotions and experiences
Guide parents with practical ideas to encourage creativity and emotional development at home
Maintain professional session records and monitor student progress
Collaborate with tutors, educators, counsellors, and other professionals where appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Fine Arts, Art Education, Child Development, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, or a related field
MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain
Minimum 2 years' experience working with children or adolescents in educational, creative, coaching, or wellbeing settings
Strong understanding of child development and social-emotional learning
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), Art Education, Creative Arts Facilitation, Child Development, Positive Psychology, or a related field
Experience supporting children with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety, or emotional regulation challenges
Knowledge of creative learning strategies and emotional intelligence development
Experience facilitating art-based learning programmes or creative workshops for children
Training in trauma-informed or strengths-based educational approaches is advantageous
UAE Licensing Requirements
Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.

Required Experience
2+ years working with children or adolescents in education, art education, coaching, youth development, or wellbeing settings
Experience delivering creative learning, social-emotional learning, or arts-based educational programmes
One-to-one coaching or tutoring experience preferred
