About the Role
As a Debate & Critical Thinking Tutor / Educator, you will provide students with structured training in debate formats, critical reasoning, and persuasive communication. Responsibilities include:
Conducting lessons on structured debates (British Parliamentary, Model United Nations, Asian Parliamentary style)
Teaching persuasive and argumentative speaking, including logical reasoning, evidence-based arguments, and counter-argument strategies
Developing critical thinking skills: analysis, evaluation, reasoning, problem-solving in both spoken and written formats
Preparing students for competitions: school-level, national, and international debate and speech contests
Providing feedback, tracking progress, and adapting lessons to individual student needs
Requirements
Education & Professional Background
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Communications, Law, Social Sciences, or a related field
Prior experience in debate coaching, speech & debate education, or critical thinking instruction
Experience with school-aged learners across a variety of curricula
Curriculum & Pedagogical Knowledge
Familiarity with school curricula taught in Dubai:
British Curriculum (KS2–KS5)
American Curriculum (Grades 5–12)
IB (PYP, MYP, DP)
French / Indian curricula (optional, if applicable)
Knowledge of structured debate frameworks: British Parliamentary, Asian Parliamentary, Model UN
Teaching & Resource Skills
Ability to plan and deliver structured lessons and practice sessions
Comfortable creating and using resources: debate prompts, case studies, practice exercises, and evaluation rubrics
Skilled in giving constructive feedback and tracking student progress
Communication & Professionalism
Excellent verbal and written communication in English
Strong interpersonal skills to mentor and motivate students
Professional, reliable, and punctual
Legal & Work Eligibility
Must hold a valid UAE visa that permits freelance or commission-based work
MOHRE tutoring/teaching permit recommended for compliance
No visa sponsorship or employment benefits provided
Applicants are responsible for maintaining their own legal work eligibility
Compensation
💰 Commission-based
Earn a percentage of fees per session or debate training package
Earnings are performance-based and uncapped

Experience coaching students for MUN conferences, British Parliamentary or Asian Parliamentary competitions
Experience preparing students for public speaking, speech contests, or national/international debate competitions
Ability to create digital and print teaching resources
