About the Role
As an English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Tutor / Educator, you will provide specialised instruction in English for professional, academic, or technical contexts. Your responsibilities include assessing student needs, designing targeted lessons, delivering practice exercises, and tracking progress.
This role is ideal for educators experienced in Medical English, Legal English, STEM English, or other career-specific English programmes, working with students from secondary school through adult learners.
Examples of ESP Focus Areas
Medical English: Linked to OET or healthcare professional studies
Legal English: For law-focused students or professionals
STEM English: For technical writing in science, technology, or engineering fields
Requirements
Education & Professional Background
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education (English), TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
Relevant experience in your ESP specialisation (e.g., healthcare, law, STEM)
Prior tutoring or teaching experience for secondary students or adult learners
Curriculum & Pedagogical Knowledge
Ability to teach across Secondary → Adult learners
Familiarity with school curricula and professional learning contexts in Dubai, including:
British (KS3–A-Level)
American (Middle → High School)
International Baccalaureate (IB MYP, DP)
Indian (CBSE / ICSE)
French international schools (Lycée / Pre-University)
Ability to design career-specific or exam-focused English lessons
Teaching & Resource Skills
Ability to plan and deliver structured, specialised lessons
Comfortable creating and using teaching resources such as:
Case studies
Professional writing exercises
Technical vocabulary and communication activities
Skilled in giving constructive feedback and tracking progress
Communication & Professionalism
Strong verbal and written communication in English
Professional, reliable, and punctual
Able to communicate clearly with students and/or professionals regarding goals, progress, and expectations
Legal & Work Eligibility
Must hold a valid UAE visa that legally permits freelance or commission-based work
Valid MOHRE tutoring/teaching permit recommended
No visa sponsorship or employment benefits provided
Applicant responsible for maintaining their own legal work eligibility
Compensation
💰 Commission-based
Earn a percentage of fees per session or package delivered
Earnings are performance-based and uncapped
