About the Role

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced College Admissions Counsellor to guide secondary school students and their families through the university admissions process. You will provide personalised support with university selection, course planning, application strategies, personal statements, admissions essays, interviews, scholarships, and application timelines for institutions in the UAE and internationally. The successful candidate will empower students to make informed decisions and maximise their chances of admission to their preferred universities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assess students' academic profiles, interests, career aspirations, and university goals

  • Provide personalised university and course selection guidance

  • Advise students on admission requirements for universities in the UAE, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, and other destinations

  • Support students with personal statements, admissions essays, portfolios, and application documentation

  • Prepare students for university interviews and admissions assessments

  • Assist with scholarship applications and financial aid opportunities

  • Develop application timelines and monitor submission deadlines

  • Communicate regularly with students and parents throughout the admissions process

  • Collaborate with Simone's Tutoring specialists to support students' academic preparation


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counselling, Psychology, Higher Education, or a related field

  • MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain (where tutoring services are provided)

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in university admissions counselling or academic advising

  • Strong knowledge of international university admissions systems


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Counselling, Education, or a related discipline

  • Experience working within international schools or university admissions offices

  • Membership of recognised college counselling organisations

  • Experience supporting IB Diploma, A Level, AP, or other international curriculum students


UAE Licensing Requirements

Educational specialists providing tutoring or educational services in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation where applicable. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person educational services.


UAE Visa & Work Eligibility

Applicants must be legally authorised to work in the UAE through one of the following:

  • Own UAE Employment Visa

  • Golden Visa

  • Green Visa

  • Freelance Permit

  • Dependent Visa with legal work eligibility

  • Any other valid UAE work authorisation

  • Experience supporting international university applications

  • Experience advising students and families
