Personal Growth & Life Skills Tutor

Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, inspiring, and experienced Personal Growth & Life Skills Tutor to help children, teenagers, university students, and adults develop the practical, emotional, social, and personal competencies needed to thrive academically, professionally, and in everyday life.

The successful candidate will deliver personalised coaching and educational programmes focused on self-awareness, confidence, communication, emotional intelligence, resilience, organisation, decision-making, healthy habits, financial literacy, career readiness, interpersonal relationships, and independent living skills. This role is educational and developmental in nature and does not replace regulated mental health, counselling, psychotherapy, or medical services.

Programmes may be delivered through one-to-one sessions, small-group workshops, school partnerships, homeschool programmes, holiday camps, or corporate youth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess learners' strengths, goals, interests, and areas for personal development

• Develop personalised personal growth and life skills programmes

• Deliver engaging, learner-centred one-to-one and small-group sessions

• Support confidence building, self-esteem, and self-awareness

• Teach emotional intelligence, empathy, resilience, and emotional regulation strategies

• Develop communication, active listening, and interpersonal relationship skills

• Teach conflict resolution, teamwork, collaboration, and respectful communication

• Support executive functioning, organisation, planning, time management, and productivity

• Develop study habits, goal setting, motivation, and accountability

• Introduce financial literacy, budgeting, responsible spending, and basic money management

• Teach decision-making, problem-solving, critical thinking, and responsible risk assessment

• Support digital citizenship, online safety, and responsible technology use

• Prepare learners for interviews, workplace expectations, networking, and professional etiquette

• Teach independent living skills appropriate to the learner's age

• Encourage healthy lifestyle habits, wellbeing routines, and positive mindset development

• Provide regular progress updates and practical home strategies to parents where appropriate

• Collaborate with schools, tutors, and other professionals while maintaining confidentiality

• Recognise when concerns fall outside educational practice and recommend referral to appropriately qualified professionals where necessary

  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Child Development, Social Work, Human Development, Coaching, Business, Counselling (educational scope), or a related field

• MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain

• Minimum 3 years' experience in education, youth development, coaching, mentoring, or life skills facilitation

• Strong understanding of child, adolescent, and young adult development

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Human Development, Leadership, Coaching, or a related discipline

• PGCE, B.Ed., recognised coaching qualification, or equivalent

• Training in emotional intelligence, executive-function coaching, positive psychology, youth leadership, or social-emotional learning

• Experience in schools, youth organisations, or community programmes

• Experience delivering workshops and group programmes

• Knowledge of British, American, IB, Cambridge, UAE MOE, or international education systems

  
  

UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation before providing private educational services.

This role is educational and coaching-based only. Applicants must not provide psychotherapy, psychological diagnosis, counselling regulated by healthcare authorities, or any other healthcare service unless separately licensed and legally authorised to do so under UAE law.

UAE Visa & Work Eligibility

Applicants must be legally authorised to work in the UAE through one of the following:

• Own UAE Employment Visa

• Golden Visa

• Green Visa

• Freelance Permit

• Dependent Visa with legal work eligibility
